Black Canyon
The first overlook when you enter the park.
The 'woah' factor.
The canyon is so steep and deep, that no sun
can reach the bottom. Therefore the name 'Black'.
At certain points you can see the Gunnison River.
And if there is a route down, I go.
Easy this time to get the permit.
Only a small distance, but extremely steep.
from 8,130 ft to 6,227 ft.
Coming up, takes some effort ;-)
Good that they have chains along the way, to hold
on to.
And yes, all the way down at the river,
you see the black rocks, going vertical up.
On the hike, some nice flowers
