Sunday Jun 2 2013.

Must there be more water....

Early rise in the tent.
Good coffee, and on the way.
Up 5 miles in the mountains on the Yellow Pine
trail. This time, it was not the snow that blocked
me, but the huge amount of melt water. Needed to
cross the river several times, but after 5 or 6
miles, it was impossible. So, no pictures of the
beautiful (that's what they say) lake.

What 100 years ago was so impossible to cross,
or took months, Is now a matter of hours.
This is now called the land for multi purpose.
Skying, snow shoeing, rock climbing, hiking, rafting, fishing,
boating, jet ski or wind surfing (on all the reservoirs).
But also hydro power and drinking water and
irrigation water.
The pioneers would never belief that people
come out to enjoy this for recreational purpose.

And then on the scenic routes.
Amazing how a landscape can change at each turn.

I passed at least 3 dams with huge reservoirs.

Who was thinking about kite surfing, close
to Salt Like City ?

Scenic drives.
89 to Provo. You can probably spend several
days on this stretch. So, many parks
and scenic view points, such as Bretal falls.

US 6 to Price. The large views with the
road cutting thru the rocks.

191 to Duchess: like a small (50 miles long)
Bryce canyon.

That's why a really need the google self
driving car, that I can enjoy the views
and picture more of the landscape.
