Scenic drives.

Starting the scenic drive in Ogden, over Huntsville,
Pine view Reservoir, Woodruff up in the Wasatch National
Forest. Over a peak of 10,759 feet.

The first part of the trip shows a vast, endless
landscape. You can see for miles and miles. And in
the very, very far distance the snow top mountains.

Bear River City, must have been a fun place.
One of the so many historical markers.
The pioneer trails, the pony express.
All of them a legend in itself, which made the US.

The second part brings me again high up in the mountains.

This campground is clearly not yet open for business.
Need to drive a little further.

The map shows thousands of beautiful lakes along the way.
But to early in the season. Most are still
covered in snow.

And plenty of waterfalls, canyons and gorges

Now camping in the Forest, in the absolute silence.
Enjoying my Duvel.

  1. Keeping those fingers crossed for the lakes to become visible soon. Heading to Glacier NP for the 4th of July week and the planned backpacking trip will be impossible with that much snow :(
