Tuesday Jun 11 2013

What a day, no plans, but so much to see.
Visit a mine, mine processing plant,
pass the million dollar highway, seen a 1000
waterfalls,  and now stuck in Ouray, just a few
miles further down the road.
All, while I was not planning anything.

Hundreds of mines in this region. Gold seekers
in California, yes. But the fever was as high here.
Went in 1/2 a mile in the granite rock,
and several levels up are the gold, silver,
zinc and lead ore's.

Then, just went over the red rock pass,
on the one million dollar hwy. The most
expensive (?, it is the US, extremes are
needed) roads to build.

And along the way, thousand of waterfalls.
which one of the hundred pictures to show ?

And to finish the evening, first in the 'crazy'
Ouray Brewery. Then a fantastic dinner in the
old western hotel, trout and surprisingly with
duvel, even in the correct glass.

Again 'Ouray', and old town, with some old
100+ year hotels stopped me.

Just a small corner of my room

Just kidding, yes, this was the hotel, the 1891
western hotel. My room was a little smaller,
just  above the bar.

On a hike, still wildlife even in the debris of
an old mine site.

and around the corner
