Yellowstone national park

The mandatory visit to "Old Faithful".
Yes, you still can count on the old values.
Every 90 minutes you have this spectacle.

The old faithful area has several geysers,
hot springs, fumeroles and mudpots.

A geyser has a constricted plumbing which prevents
water from circulating. The "old faithful"
erupts super heated water under high pressure
out of the cone on a regular interval of about
90 minutes.

In hot springs hot water constantly surfaces.

 A colorful hot spring

Fumeralos vent steam. Big steam plumes can be
seen from far distance.

Mudpots looks like bubbling and plopping mud.
These have micro organisms, which love the
super heated environment and convert gas
to sulfuric acid.

The color spectacle is enormous.

Blue, green, dark red,
a complete painters pallet

Another look

And so many more

One hot spring is famously called "Belgian Pool".
Just because, years ago, a Belgian guy wanted to
see up close, felt in the pool and was steamed.

While walking on the board walk,
of one of the mud pots, passed this
lovely thousand pound-er.

Not only that. This morning, in my tent, around
5 AM, some strange noise woke me up, and I was
face to face with a grazing Buffalo, just 3 ft
from my tent.

If I'm not mistaken, this is a young American
eagle. Appropriate on the the 4th of July.
But let me know if I'm wrong.
